Dr. Thomas Mason had an ordinary life with a good career and a girlfriend he loved. Until one night, zapped from somewhere else, a mysterious young woman named Cat ends up in his E.R. Pursued by the government and inhuman creatures from her own world, the feral slave girl pulls Tom into a quest for freedom from her brutal masters. With only each other to rely on, they are forced to escape through magical doorways to parallel Earths Tom never imagined—and from which he might never return!
Based on a pilot script for a TV show that hasn’t yet been developed, George R.R. Martin’s Doorways Vol. 1 brings to life the fantastic adventures of these rag-tag fugitives, as their search for the next doorway grows ever more dangerous. Issues #1-4.

Did not realize that this was a 'graphic novel' when I ordered it. I thought it was a novel. It was a big disappointment. I will probably donate it..

It really is a TV plot and stops just as suddenly. Lousy.

===The Bad - Did not realize that this was a 'graphic novel' when I ordered it. Basically this is a glorified comic strip with a hard cover. Short length. Ending rather sudden and I felt leaves you hanging. I am seriously ticked off that only the category says 'graphic novel' and the fact that nowhere in the description does it say 'graphic novel' in any form... ===The Good - Really good art work. The characters were fairly well developed considering the limited length. Good concept of alternate universes & travel between. George R.R. Martin is one of the greatest story tellers in print (in my humble opinion) My fault for not researching more than I did before ordering; just would not have expected the author of "Game of Thrones" to release a comic book. Was expecting a good 'reading book' from a favorite author and recieved this. An inexpensive lesson learned, costs more to return it than its worth...
