Put 'Em Up!

When it comes to demystifying how to can, freeze, dry, pickle and otherwise preserve the harvest, Sherri Brooks Vinton thought of everything, right down to safety considerations, but the best reason to pick up a copy of Put ’Em Up! is her detailed, experience-based, how-to instruction. She simplifies techniques and 175 recipes for jams, jellies, chutneys, butters, fruit leathers and more, including creative recipes to enjoy them in. Serve Cherry & Black Pepper Preserves over Roasted Duck, add incredible flavor to a French-country Goat Cheese Tart with your own Mushroom Confit and choose from a fantastic selection of old favorites and unique treats, divided by ingredient, from Homemade Applesauce to Watermelon Granita. Great Recipes!

This book covered just about every form of putting food up! I bought it for my sister who gardens, but have decided to probably keep it for my family. Great book! Patricia Schulte St. Louis, MO

The recipes are really simple to follow and there are SO many! I even found a recipe to make green apple jelly, loved it because my grandma use to make this jelly but I never got her recipe... I have it now!

Very Good Book
August 06, 2010

I have looked at every "preserving" book at every book store I have been to, and this one is definitely in the top 3. I like the way it is organized, directions and recipes are very simple. There are not a lot of fancy or odd combinations of ingredients, if that is what you are looking for.

very good book to have in your kitchen

It's not the same old how to do canning. They have great and different ways of preparing foods. Simple receipes with great results. If you had to have one book in your kitchen about canning... this is a must have.

It is exactly as it states. It is very simply taught, easy read, and easy to follow. I have already worked a few recipes and am excited as summer continues to bring out fresh garden veggies!
