Finding Martha’s Place is an inspirational, heartwarming story about dreams coming true. Nothing good was supposed to happen to Martha Hawkins, but God intervened in a life plagued by poverty, violence and mental illness to put her on the path to success. She did the rest—attended college, raised four sons alone, advocated for other families on public assistance and finally realized her lifelong dream of opening a restaurant—all by her astonishing self. Martha’s Place in Montgomery, Alabama, is a destination restaurant for Southern country cooking. She’s rightly not shy about her talents: “When you eat a piece of my fried chicken you can snap your fingers afterward.” Martha Hawkins proves no dream is impossible.

I got this book as a part of Amazon Vine and I found this book quite empowering here. For one, I wasn 't looking for recipes but I wanted to read about her life how she was able to overcome poverty and become a better person.

There is only 10 recipes in the entire book !! Not what I expected. The story of her life is heartwarming but this should not be advertised as a cook book.
