The Pioneer Woman Cooks

Some people dream of leaving big city life behind. Ree Drummond didn’t. Until she met “Marlboro Man,” that is. A real cowboy with his own ranch, he swept Ree off her feet and deposited her in the middle of an Oklahoma pasture. “More than a decade and four kids later,” she perfected the art of feeding people who work hard for a living. Based on her popular blog, The Pioneer Woman Cooks is all about this city slicker’s life on the ranch with her family, horses and dogs. As on her blog, each recipe—starters, breakfast, dinner (translation: lunch), supper (translation: dinner), sweets—comes with lots of step-by-step photos. From Braised Beef Brisket for 12 to Blackberry Cobbler, they’re hearty enough to satisfy the hungriest cowboy.

Great recipes!

I love this cookbook! My family, which is full of picky eaters, has eaten all the meals I prepared from this book. My husband feels the chicken fried steak is better than the meal served in restaurants!

This has to be one of my favorite cookbooks, and I have hundreds I have collected over the years. It is down to earth good home cooking at its best. Ree has an easy style, so it is no wonder she has become a food tv star. I plan on buying more of her books, so please keep it up!
