Love this book

I got this book last month and I love it, It cooked up beautifully! I know another person said you can purchase it cheaper elsewhere, but I cannot, nor could I before find it any cheaper. This is an excellent deal and I appreciate the gluten free section, I plan to use it when my mother-in-law comes to visit as she is gluten intolerant. Highly recommend this book, it is great for busy parents who want to make homemade bread at a very affordable price!

Great book - unfortunately, the publisher's edition is less expensive and with free shipping on Amazon - what's the purpose of belonging to this book club?

Excellent Results

Bread always intimidated me and it is so time consuming that it just didn't fit into a busy lifestyle. This book is a revolution in bread baking. It's so easy and fun. I only have a couple comments. 1. You need a really big processor if you do the whole recipe of dough in the basic recipe. Otherwise, be prepared to be filled and coming up the spout. 2. No matter how anxious you are to bake it, and even though the book says you can bake it with 1 rising, let it raise twice. It will be much lighter. I loved it. My family loved it. I was ecstatic to have made homemade bread!

The Joy of Breadbaking!
April 26, 2010

I am an avid cook but do very little baking. This book should be called: BREAD BAKING FOR DUMMIES! It's that simple, amazingly so. I could repeat all the stellar remarks from those before me, but I will try here to say what hasn't been mentioned. First, my toddler granddaughter is allergic to peanuts, dairy and eggs. It is almost impossible for me to bake her any goodies without milk and espec. eggs. One of the the "master dough" recipes in this book does NOT use those ingredients, and some recipes using this dough to create your items will remain so, so for that I am very happy. Also, the way the page of instructions are laid out is very clear, step by step, and even the 'white space' between each direction helps the eye navigate the page without feeling overwhelmed. I was also concerned that the bucket of dough would be too cumbersome for my fridge, but you can easily halve the master dough recipe if you want, conserving space in fridge. But I have a little dorm size fridge in basement and that one holds a large tupperware container with the full amt of dough w/o trouble. I use the larger stainless bowl from my stand mixer that I mix it with, let it rise in same container, carry it as is to the fridge, one bowl does all. And you have up to 14 days to use the dough, no pressure to make a thing until you're ready to. I absolutely love this book for these reasons and beyond. Who knew breadbaking was SO easy!

This is an awesome book, being Celiac I loved the gluten free section in this book, for the first time in 1 and 1/2 year I had cinnamon rolls, they were scrumptious. I have tried all 3 different kinds of glutenfree doughs and loved them all, this is my new go to book and I truly recommend it to everyone I know, even sent an email to my celiac group in the area promoting this good book, thanks for writing it, thinking of us poor souls that can't eat regular bread anymore.
