I just adore Nigella and everything she does, this Christmas book is so beautiful and the pictures are just amazing! Though its not her best, I have all her other cookbooks and have tried most every recipe in those books, this one not too many I want to try. If you like Nigella this is great to add to your collection.

Not my Fave

I was quite excited to receive this but was somewhat let down. I don't feel this book compares to her earlier ones but maybe I just don't have the same level of enthusiasm for the holidays. Still would purchase any of her books though- love her just not all of her recipes!

Enchanting

Forget about Christmas recipes - this book is enchanting all on its own! I sat down to give it my first once-through and just couldn't stop reading. Thanks Nigella - you are just great - no ego to deal with - no my-way-or-the-highway! It feels like you are sitting down with family and friends talking about food and holidays (and that you really like these people!)
I've been through the books that give you 500 looks at Christmas and never say one thing you want to know. Nigella is NOT like that - so many things to digest - food and otherwise.
OH YES - and pictures, lovely pictures for each receipe. How can you make something when you have no idea what it looks like??? Thanks again!
A totally enchanting, entertaining and worthwhile book. Will definitely get more from Nigella.

Mixed feelings

This book is eye-candy, all red and green and sizeably impressive; would make a lovely cocktail table book or a nice hostess gift to bring to someone for the holidays. This was my first Nigella cookbook, and altho' her lovely personality comes out in the pages, I am not blown away by it in practical ways. When I look thru a new cookbook for the first time, I have little sticky notes in hand ready to tag the pages of many recipes that I will make a point to eventually cook. This book, altho' beautiful to look at, left me wanting. I will get another Nigella book one day. I feel confident her other books would be better suited for my taste and needs.

Oh, Nigella! What a treat for the holidays! A hefty book that will spread cheer from heart and hearth to all of your family and friends. Love the make ahead tips, detailed steps, and the happy conversational reading. From cocktails/mocktails, to gifting, to how to properly light your pudding afire, I feel totally ready for and excited about the upcoming season. Nigella has liberally sprinkled Christmas cheer throughout the pages and since I've decided to keep this gift for myself, Merry Christmas to me!
