I have used the Cake Bible for years, and has been one of my two favorite resources for cakes (Paula Peck being my very first!) This one is even better in many ways. Many more pictures, still her signature detail and information, and some really innovative new recipes. Also, she stresses the value of weighing, and I have found that it gives much more consistent results. I will give copies to my girls for Christmas, knowing that they will learn, as well as enjoy!

A great resource. You'll find a few repeat recipes in here; a few from the Cake Bible, a few from Rose's Celebrations. I do like the amount of pictures in this book though. Her other ones have not been as picture heavy and it always helps to see the end result as she envisioned.

Great enhancement to the Cake Bible. Although the recipes look complicated, Rose, once again is in my kitchen guiding me every step of the away with notes, highlights, recommendations and descriptions of stages to assure that beginner or professional will have a cake that matches the beautiful picture accompanying the recipe. I like that there is a full array of cakes from easy to complex covering virtually every type of cake for any occasion. Plus, I can get tips and testimonials from her blog and some 20 home bakers who are baking thru the book with weekly blog postings of their cakes and stories. I bought two to have one in my kitchen and one on the living room table just for the art in its photography.

Complex recipes, BUT the way to cook for consistant results. I found that the amount in a cup of flour can vary 10-15% if you don't weigh it. Some of the recipes take time and effort, but I haven't found one yet that was not worth it.
