great road trip book

This is a great book to take on a road trip and the recipes are wild. I especially liked the "Cap'n Crunch French Toast" recipe. That alone is worth the cost of the book. If you watched Guy Fieri on tv, you will love this book. I highly recommend it.

Fun book!

DD&D is a follow up to the tv series on FN and I love it! My mouth waters with each and every episode! Makes me wish I had Guy's job! I have only 2 beefs with this book...#1-They don't have all the recipes of the great dishes we see on tv but do we really expect the restaurant owners to reveal them all?...#2-Pictures are only in black and white, which gives the book a cheapie cheapie feel. Otherwise its alot of fun reading and definitely has some great recipes.

Not a good cookbook!!! In a way disappointed.

Guy is my favorite host on Food Network. However, while the book holds true to his humor, the recipes provided by the restaurants are chintzy at best. You will be lucky if any of the recipes from the show are even in there. I mean there's two recipes for potatoes salad...what episode featured potato salad? Anyway, I love Guy's sense of humor, and it is definitely more of a travel guide. I'd love to visit the majority of the places featured on DDD. At least then I will be able to taste the featured items from the show.

Perfect Roadtrip Companion

This isn't a cookbook, it's a trip guide with photos and recipes. Guy gives you the locations and phone numbers to each place featured in the book, along with a story and quips about the diners, drive-ins and dives he's visited on the show and highlighted in this book. Now we can follow in Guy's tire treads and visit those small town eateries we watched him enjoy on television and taste-test the food ourselves. My copy is going in our motorhome next time we travel!
