The Food Network®’s Guy Fieri invites you to tour 60 of the best mom-and-pop restaurants in America, from the legendary A1 Diner in Maine (it’s “up on stilts, and the food is on another level, too”) all the way to Seattle’s Voula’s Offshore Café. Like Bobby & Jamie Deen and Alton Brown before him, he brings you into the booths, up to the counters and back into the kitchens of the down-home joints run by folks who know how to keep their customers coming back for more. Tag along as Guy speeds across the country in his vintage hot rod, getting to know the restaurants’ owners and gathering outstanding recipes along the way. You’ll meet Chef Gonzalez, who serves up classic American road food like no other at the Bayway Diner in New Jersey. His Famous Tri-Color Pasta with Grilled Chicken is definitely worth a special trip. Then there’s Gus Tselios, proprietor of the Marietta Diner. It’s known as the Greek diner that conquered Georgia. One taste of his Spanakopita and you’ll know why. This is the best of American home-cooking. A travelogue and cookbook all rolled into one, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives is the next best thing to hitting the road with Guy himself! B&W photos.

Love the book and the author. Wish I could visit all the fabulous places he has been to. Actually, just put Guy on a big plate and set it front of me, I'd be a happy camper. He is so cute.
