I was very disappointed to see there are no photos of the dishes. Some do have illustrations, but not all. There are photos of Paula and her family, but none of the dishes. A picture speaks a thousand words to me; they are what hooks me to try a recipe and I am not hooked to try these. Maybe my son will be more interested than I am in this book.

I purchased this for my 9-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. I'm adding an apron and chef hat along with mixing bowl and small utensils. She will think she's a TOP CHEF with all this. I used to teach beginning cooking for a 4-H group and this looks to be just I needed back then for my beginner class.

Got this for my 9 year old daughter who loves to "concoct" in the kitchen. The illustrations help her see exactly how much of each ingredient is needed, and she is so excited when her dishes get rave reviews from the rest of the family.

Got this for my 10 year old daughter cause she was wanting to start helping in the kitchen. She loves it! And it is easy for kids to understand and she can't hardly wait to do more. She talks about how she is going to cook every weekend for us. Great Book and BIG BIG fans of Paula Deen!

This is definitely something that you can use when cooking with children. The recipes were great and the illustrations really set the tone--very nice book!
