“If you’re not old enough to remember the ’70s, take it from those of us who do: There were some really awful whole-grain recipes out there, and people suffered through them simply because they were ‘good for you.’ “That’s why this book is revolutionary. (Yes, revolutionary, even though it’s from the nation’s oldest flour company.) It’s a ‘next-generation’ cookbook that actually improves the way whole grains are used, so that not only are the 400 recipes here better for you—they’re lighter, airier, and often even tastier than conventional recipes. (It’s true: the Toasted Almond Mocha Cake has a deeper, nuttier flavor than any other I’ve tasted.) “And this is not just a dessert cookbook. The Beef & Portobello Mushroom Turnovers, made with a buttery whole-wheat crust, are entrée-sized, and breakfasts include Banana Pancakes (with oat flour) and Spelt Cream Cheese Biscuits. “If you’ve been meaning to get more whole grains in your diet, this is a terrific way to get them ‘baked right in!’” Color insert • 640 pages • 8" x 10"

This is a book for you if your worried about processed foods going into your body. The recipes are easy to follow and use basic items found in most stores. My family frowns when I have to serve store bought items now. Even picky eater like the fresh stuff!

I love to bake but I hate the idea of using only white flour. This book is great for making my homemade bread healthier. My favorite is the pizza dough recipe, but all other recipes are great as well.
