“Who said French food was complicated?” asks Rachel Khoo, who tests the recipes for her professional catering in a little Paris kitchen with two gas rings and a mini-oven. From this compact space, she shares her re-invigorated recipes for French staples and takes us on a walkabout around Paris to markets, cafes and homes to see how the City of Light shops and eats today. Say bonjour to fresh, gorgeous fare, simply prepared with this gorgeous collection of snacks, summer picnics, aperitifs, dinner with friends and family, and sweet treats. Photos throughout The Little Paris Kitchen are as tempting as recipes such as Dulce de Leche Brioche Buns, Coq au Vin on Skewers, Beef Stew Fajitas and Chocolate Lava Cake. Color photos.

What is it about newer cookbooks that have the author's picture on every other page? While the author is winsome, I think readers/cooks would rather see the foods and techniques described. The recipes are classic French, it might appeal to a novice.
