After reading the starch solution, I was excited to start on Dr. McDougall's plan. Within 2 weeks I lost 7 pounds. I was so enthusiastic about the book that I borrowed other McDougall books from the library and joined his web forums. I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to drop weight and stay satiated. I also recommend it to any women that want to alleviate PMS symptoms, as my PMS symptoms have subsided by following this low fat, starch/plant based diet.
