Ina Garten
In 1978, Ina Garten left her job as a budget analyst in the White House to pursue her dream of operating a specialty food store in the Hamptons. Her shop was a big hit, but after almost 20 years in the food business, she decided to try something new. So she wrote her first cookbook and called it The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. The rest is history. With the success of subsequent cookbooks, the launch of television shows on the Food Network and a stylish product line, and her contributions to major magazines, the Contessa is now a household name!
