"You can do a lot to tomatoes, or you can let them shine in all their juicy glory," says Miriam Rubin. This avid gardener will show you how to make the most of heirloom, less-than-perfect and canned tomatoes. Sidebars cover all the things tomato lovers should know, including how to choose, grow, peel and freeze tomatoes, but the real treat are recipes for starters to desserts:
Bloody Mary • Heirloom Tomato Stacks with Blue Cheese Dressing & Bacon Crumbles • a perfect Cream of Tomato Soup • Filled Tomatoes with Crabmeat Rémoulade • Classic BLT • Green Tomato & Pork Tenderloin Biscuit Pie • Quick Rosemary Tomato Sauce • Red Tomato & Jalapeño Conserve • Fresh-Brewed Tomato Juice • Spiced Green Tomato Crumb Cake

As a gardener and lover of gardening and cooking books, I was VERY disappointed in this book. It was not worth my time or money. If I had been given the choice, my star rating would have been negative five.
